The Default Campaign
Default Campaign - Capturing and Managing New Contacts
The Default Campaign in ConveYour operates differently from other campaigns. It serves two primary functions:
Capturing new leads on the fly
Catching and managing incorrect sign-up attempts
Unlike standard campaigns, the Default Campaign includes every contact in your system and cannot be used for lesson-based content. Instead, it acts as an always-on intake tool for new contacts.
1. Capturing New Leads on the Fly
Instead of relying on business cards or forms, you can collect contact information instantly by having individuals text your ConveYour number.
When someone texts your ConveYour number, they are automatically added as a new contact.
If they provide incomplete information, ConveYour sends an automatic response prompting them to fill in missing details such as last name and email.
Their message appears in Conversations, initially marked as Unknown until they provide further information.
This method is ideal for networking events, conferences, and speaking engagements, allowing you to build your contact list effortlessly.
2. Catching Incorrect Sign-Ups (Error Handling)
The Default Campaign also acts as a catch-all for contacts who attempt to sign up incorrectly.
For example:
A participant at your event mistypes the campaign hashtag when texting your ConveYour number.
Instead of losing that lead, the Default Campaign automatically captures them as a contact.
You receive an alert about the error, allowing you to manually assign them to the correct campaign.
This feature ensures that no potential participant is lost due to typos or misunderstandings.

Default Campaign Settings
The Default Campaign has limited customization options compared to regular campaigns.
Editable settings include:
Landing Page: Add a display image or video introduction.
Landing Page URL: Use this to direct new contacts to a form where they can provide additional information.
Other settings, such as content scheduling and automations, are locked because the Default Campaign is not designed for structured learning content.
Using the Default Campaign Strategically
Capturing Leads at Events
You can combine the Default Campaign with tag groups and automations to streamline lead collection.
Create a Tag Group for a specific event.
Set up a text-to-join hashtag (e.g., #event2024).
When a contact texts the hashtag, they are added to the Tag Group.
Use an automation to send them a follow-up message with a link to the Default Campaign landing page, where they can provide additional details.

Example Scenarios
1. Building a Contact List Without a Course
You want to grow your prospect list but do not have a structured course yet.
Solution:
Have people text your ConveYour number.
The system automatically replies, encouraging them to provide more contact details.
You are alerted when new leads join, allowing you to follow up.
To further organize new contacts:
Create a Tag Group to sort prospects.
Use a "Send Text" automation to direct them to the Default Campaign landing page.
2. Running a 14-Day Post-Speaking Challenge
You are a speaker and want to send a daily follow-up question for two weeks after an event.
Solution:
Set up a separate campaign with the 14-day challenge content.
Use the hashtag method or a landing page URL to let attendees sign up.
Stagger content delivery so that each lesson is dripped out one day at a time.
This method allows you to reuse the challenge for future events by turning it into a campaign template.
