Easy SMS Campaigns

What is an Easy SMS Campaign?

An Easy SMS Campaign is a simple, automated series of text messages sent to contacts over time. It allows you to engage with your audience, provide reminders, and reinforce behaviors with minimal effort.

Why Use an SMS Campaign?

Common use cases include:

  • Reinforcing habits through short, daily challenges or reminders.

  • Congratulating contacts on achievements when they complete tasks.

  • Sending quick reminders to groups about time-sensitive actions.

  • Providing structured guidance, such as onboarding steps or training completion tips.

  • Maintaining close engagement through check-ins and encouragement.

Best Practices for SMS Messaging

  • Keep messages short and to the point. Text messages should be concise to maintain engagement.

  • Avoid long messages. If a message is too long, it will be broken into multiple texts, which may reduce readability.

  • Duplicate and edit for efficiency. When setting up an SMS campaign, you can duplicate existing message triggers and update them instead of starting from scratch.

How to Set Up an Easy SMS Campaign

There are two options for SMS Campaign setup:

  1. Send a single message to a group at a scheduled time.

  2. Create a series of messages that are automatically sent in a timed sequence (drip campaign).

Step 1: Create a Campaign

If you haven't set up a campaign before, check out Campaign Setup for step-by-step instructions.

Step 2: Add SMS Triggers

Once your campaign is set up:

  1. Navigate to the Content section of your campaign.

  2. Locate Send Text Message under Content and drag-and-drop it into your campaign.

  3. Write your message.

  4. Set a timing trigger, such as:

    • Immediately upon joining the campaign.

    • A specific number of days after enrollment.

    • A set date and time for scheduled announcements.

Step 3: Duplicate and Edit Messages

If you’re setting up a multi-message campaign (e.g., daily tips or a 7-day challenge):

  1. It may be useful to duplicate the first message instead of creating a new one from scratch.

  2. Adjust the timing for each new message (e.g., send one per day).

  3. Update the message content as needed.

Example: Career Coaching SMS Campaign

A career coach wants to create a 7-day motivation series for clients making a career shift. Each day, clients receive an actionable text message, such as:

  • Day 1: “Step 1: Write down your top 3 career goals. Keep them somewhere visible.”

  • Day 2: “Step 2: Identify 3 people in your network who can help. Reach out to one today.”

  • Day 3: “Step 3: Update your resume with recent skills and achievements.”

By setting this up in an SMS campaign, the coach can ensure consistent engagement without manual follow-ups.
